Marilyn (Glover) Hogan and James F Hogan recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Feb. 20, 1960, at St. Christopher’s Church in Nashua. The anniversary party was hosted by their 10 children and their families. Absent was their late brother, Michael, who passed away in 1997. The party was attended by more than 100 of the Hogans’ extended family and many friends. The Hogan family consists of three girls and seven boys. Today, the family has grown to 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Jim and Marilyn have lived in Nashua in the same home since they were married. In fact, Jim has always lived in that home, and Marilyn has lived there since she was 16. Jim worked as the city engineer for Nashua from 1968-96. Marilyn was a homemaker during those years. Afterward, she entered the jewelry business, where she enjoyed sales success for eight years. Today, Jim enjoys tennis and genealogy research. Marilyn enjoys reading and quilting. Together, they enjoy their grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The celebration was concluded with Jim presenting to Marilyn and the attendees the 10 reasons he felt their love endured through 50 years of marriage. Jim and Marilyn were presented with a letter of recognition from the New Hampshire State Legislature for 50 years of marriage. |
