Harold and Margaret Gorman, of North River Road, Milford, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2010.
A picnic celebration was held at the home of their daughter, Ann Vaillencourt, in Canterbury, Conn., on July 4.
Six of their nine children (and spouses) were able to attend. Also in attendance were many of their 32 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Other family and friends were also part of the celebration.
The couple retired to Milford in 1986 from Shelton, Conn.
Harold is a retired professional engineer, owner of Gorman Electric Co., of Shelton Conn., and a veteran of World War II.
Margaret was a full-time homemaker and perfected extreme parenting long before reality TV existed.
Harold is originally from Brockton, Mass., and Margaret Johnson Gorman is originally from Quincy, Mass.
